Babacar Faye is a percussion artist from Senegal. In 1975, alongside talking drum virtuoso Assane Thiam, he founded Étoile de Dakar, which (when re-named Super Étoile de Dakar two years later with the arrival of Youssou N’Dour), went on to great international acclaim.
